President Mustafa Akıncı received a United Nations delegation in Cyprus last week.
In line with the United Nations Security Council resolution, the UN delegation visited the island in order to review the United Nations Peacekeeping Forces in a strategic context, and to seek views from the Turkish Cypriot side regarding the deployment.
TRNC represented at the World Travel Market
TRNC tourism is being represented at the World Travel Market (WTM), which takes place this year in the UK’s capital city, London, between the 6-8 November.
A delegation including officials from the TRNC Tourism Ministry, hoteliers, travel agents and sector representatives will be taking part on behalf of the TRNC at the 38th WTM London this year.
About 4600 companies from 181 countries are expected to attend the fair, alongside approximately 51,500 tourism professionals.
Missing Martyr Hüseyin Ertan Ali buried with a military ceremony
Hüseyin Ertan Ali, who was murdered by Greek Cypriot militants while travelling from Lefkoşa to Lefke on his school holidays on 6 February 1964, was laid to rest with a military ceremony in Lefke this week. His remains were found and identified recently by the Committee on Missing Persons.
The remains of Hüseyin Ertan Ali were found in a well at Koççinodrimitya village, near the Ayvasıl village.
Hüseyin Ertan Ali was born in 1945 and was studying at Lefkoşa Turkish High School at the time of his death. He had travelled to Lefke in February 1964 in order to spend the school holiday with his family, but no news was received from him after he left on 6 February 1964.
Following the funeral prayers, Martyr Hüseyin Ertan Ali was laid to rest at the Lefke Martyrdom.
