For this Vox Pop show, I went along with my camera crew to  The Courtyard Inn to meet Brian Delaney who has been in the TRNC for 23 years.  After he retired from the UK fire brigade he wanted a change of direction with his wife after having holidays in the TRNC.

They decided to settle in the TRNC because North Cyprus was comfortable, they liked the lifestyle with no need for rushing around. His love for singing began when he was 9 years old and entertaining ran in the family as  his father was a pianist  who  played everywhere and concentrated mainly on Jazz.

For Brian singing was easy as on Sunday mornings he would practice some songs with his father and then at lunch time they would go to the pub where he would sing for pocket money.

Brian also used to play the piano but his singing was better. He played in bands in the U.K and it was a great experience for him. In his performances here in North Cyprus he sings Jazz, Rock, Blues, Rock’n’Roll and Country Music depending on the audience.

My interview with Brian will be screened on  Sunday 5th November at 15.00pm  and it will be repeated on Tuesday 7th November at 18.30pm and on Friday 10th November at 20.00pm so do tune in to join me on  my show, Vox Pop on BRT2 Television.
