Today’s leaders meeting is postponed due to the forest fires in South Cyprus. The next scheduled meeting will be held on 23 June.
TRNC Presidency has offered its assistance against forest fire in South Cyprus
Upon instruction from President Mustafa Akıncı, Presidential Spokesperson Barış Burcu called the Greek Cypriot Administration Spokesperson Nicos Hristodulidis regarding the forest fire in the Paphos region in South Cyprus. The TRNC Presidency has offered its assistance; Burcu stated that the TRNC is “ready to help South Cyprus fight against the forest fire near Paphos and to mobilize all available facilities for the rapid completion of necessary actions.”
Burcu said that President Akıncı had called the Greek Cypriot Leader Nikos Anastasiades late on Sunday to offer help to put out the fire. Specifically, President Akıncı stated that he was willing to assist the Greek Cypriot fire-fighters, offering the help of a fire-fighting aircraft from Turkey if necessary.
The Greek Cypriot Leader Nikos Anastasiades expressed his gratitude and said that he will re-evaluate the offer as the situation develops.

Nikos Anastasiades like Nero Playing his fiddle whilst Rome/ROC burns and for what?
What’s the tune he is playing, One Upmanship!
How bloody ridiculous – what’s he waiting for, he should have accepted it graciously.
