June Bay – Rest in Peace
We have received the following letter from Jayne Matter, a support worker for Help Those with Cancer Association (Tulips) who would like to make a public thank you to all of the people who made a donation at June Bay’s funeral.
“KHYD/Tulips have just received the wonderful sum of £250 as a donation in memory of June Bay, who sadly died recently. June was one of the first patients we had when the Cancer Support Team was formed over 2 years ago now.
She was so courageous and brave during her illness and always made a point of saying thank you for anything, however small, that Tulips helped her with. She would say that good manners cost nothing and that she felt it was important to show gratitude. June had a great sense of humour and any visit to her home would invariably end in chuckles. She always managed to find the positive in any adversity she came up against. The world is a sadder place without June in it.
It was June’s wish that donations to Tulips be made at her funeral. £250 will go a long way towards paying the salary of an Oncology Nurse for one month.
Our sincere thanks go to June’s husband Terry and their family and friends for carrying out her wishes.
RIP June
Jayne Matter – Tulips Expat Cancer Support Worker”
The volunteers who support Tulips both with fundraising and the support workers who give their time to help cancer patients do such a wonderful job and the world would be a better place if there were more caring people such as these.
