BRT2 TV visits cyprusscene.com

Last week BRT2-producer Engin Dervişağa once again was visiting Chris Elliott and Margaret Sheard, the founders and operators of the popular Northern Cypriot website “cyprusscene.com”.
For a recording of his weekly broadcast “VOX POP tête-à-tête” Engin first of all interviewed Chris about the recent development of the website that was launched at the end of July 2012.
Chris again underlined the importance of Internet media in these days, the good cooperation with his team of authors and even other websites, such as “tfrnorthcyprus.wordpress.com”, in terms of sharing information to offer the readers a broad spectrum of all kinds of news and background information. Not without pride, he talked of course about the ever-growing success of his blog, which meanwhile informs and entertains thousands of readers around the whole world day by day. Chris stressed that, in his opinion, joining social networks like Facebook and Twitter and spreading information there as well, is playing a bigger and bigger role.
Margaret Sheard was next to sit on the couch with the interviewer. She told Engin inter alia about her tasks in cyprusscene.com as an author and chief editor, and the big success of her last long-term project about the Newman´s Farm in Kyrenia.
In the end, I was called for a short comment. Engin asked me, of course, how I had come in contact with Chris and Margaret, and I told him of our first meeting through the association “The Foreign Residents in the TRNC” and the subsequent common work on the blog “tfrnorthcyprus.wordpress.com” at the end of 2012, which now also has significant success.
After about one hour “the thing was in the box” and Engin and his team left us.
