Kibris Line Dancers in action
with the UN
By Chris Elliott
The Kibris Line Dancers have been in action again and this time they were reaching across the divide to bring entertainment and happiness to our boys and girls in Blue Caps and this is what our Kibris Line Dancers had to say of their experience.
“On Saturday 21st June Kibris Line Dancers were invited to dance at the Country & Western Summer social for the British contingent to the United Nations in Nicosia, South Cyprus. We performed a set of 6 dances to country music, then later in the evening held a workshop where the army got up and were taught a few simple dances.
Their hospitality towards us was unbelievable, they treated us as guests, with us eating and drinking alongside them. When asked how they found our number, it appears they looked at our website and liked what they saw. It was an amazing evening and a fantastic experience for our line dancing group.”
Talking of the Blue Caps or Blue Berets, how many of our readers remember Gene Vincent and his band the Blue Caps and we are just giving you a little musical reminder of those rocking rockabilly days many years ago in the video below.
