Eroğlu: “Divergences on the issue of Governance and Power Sharing”
President Derviş Eroğlu stated that there are divergences on the issue
of Governance and Power Sharing between the Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot sides. Eroğlu also stated that the issues put on the negotiation table will continue to be discussed.
Moreover, President Eroğlu said that as well as the issue of Governance and Power Sharing, the issues of technical committees starting to work, confidence building measures and convergences were also discussed.
Leaders will meet again on 23 June, Monday.
President Eroğlu receives Hisarcıklıoğlu
President Derviş Eroğlu received the President of Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) – Rifat His
arcıklıoğlu and his accompanying delegation yesterday.
In his reception, Eroğlu said that during yesterday’s meeting, he demanded from Greek Cypriot leader Anastasiades to come to the next meeting more prepared on 23 June. Expressing that there are divergences between the proposals of the two sides, Eroğlu said that they are trying to converge the positions of the two sides, the second stage of negotiations is the stage where the mutual proposals are submitted and we are in the beginning of the second stage yet.
President Eroğlu receives Ducka
President Derviş Eroğlu received Albania’s Deputy Minister of Energy and Industry – Dorian Ducka yesterday.
At the meeting, Albania’s Deputy Minister of Energy and Industry – Dorian Ducka gave information to President Eroğlu about transferring natural gas to Europe via Albania.

Minister of Foreign Affair Özdil Nami received the Pre
sident of Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) – Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and his accompanying delegation.
In his reception at TRNC Assembly, FM Nami said that the Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) has supported a comprehensive solution in Cyprus for years and support of the Union strengthens the hand of the Turkish Cypriot side at the negotiation table. Nami expressed his satisfaction for the visit of Hisarcıklıoğlu.
Lefkoşa Economy Forum Established
Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce, Greek Cypriot Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB), Union of Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and Industry expressed their support for the negotiations continuing to solve the Cyprus problem and announced their decision to establish ‘Lefkoşa Economy Forum’.
The President of Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges – Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, the President of Greek Cypriot Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Phidias Pilides, the President of Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce – FikriToros and the President of Union of Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Constantine Michalos organized a joint press conference at Chateau Status Restaurant in the buffer zone.
In the joint press statement, Chambers expressed their support for the joint statement signed by the leaders and also expressed their belief that a solution will make important contributions to the island’s economy and the increased wealth and prosperity of the Turkish and Greek Cypriots.
