Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Yıldız: ‘Petrol or Natural Gas should be shared by the whole of Cyprus’

Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yıldız replied to the questions of press members during one of his receptions regarding the issues on the agenda and said: “Of course, the partner of South Cyprus is the TRNC, not Turkey. The whole of Cyprus should fairly benefit from the wealth around the island.

TRNC is an independent state and if both sides find a solution, Turkey will continue to make positive contribution to the project but if political feasibility is not provided, there will always be a deadlock. We have been saying since the beginning that petrol and natural gas produced in exclusive economic zones and unidentified areas according to the international law should be shared by the whole of Cyprus”.
