EROĞLU:“WE DO NOT HAVE DIFFERENCE OF OPINION”

Dervis-Eroglu LHTRNC President Dr. Derviş Eroğlu expressed that they do not have difference of opinion with Turkey concerning the Cyprus issue and “sovereignty”.

Eroğlu emphasized that his statements made during the contacts he had in Turkey and the statements made by Turkish Prime Minister Erdoğan during the meetings with EU countries are not contrary to the will of Turkish Cypriot side and added that the reluctant side is the Greek Cypriot side.

MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS: “REGULATION MADE BY SOUTH CYPRUS RELATED TO EP ELECTIONS IS UNACCEPTABLE”

TRNC Foreign Affairs Ministry emphasized that the study of Greek Cypriot administration European Union Parliamentrelated to ‘voting of Turkish Cypriots in the European Parliament elections’ will not satisfy the absence of representation of Turkish Cypriots in the European Parliament and is unacceptable.

In the written statement released from the Ministry, it was stated that Turkish Cypriots struggled for the representation in the European Parliament for many years and added that “the issue that we will not make any concessions during this period in which all Turkish Cypriot political parties are in consensus has been that Turkish Cypriots should elect their own representatives”.

“PIPELINE CAN PASS THROUGH TURKEY”

Ex-Spokesperson of the Gas exploration rigUSA Department of State Matthew Bryza expressed that the natural gas pipeline which is planned to reach Europe through the Eastern Mediterranean can pass from Turkey and added that this is the least costly and most efficient way.

Indicating that Turkish Cypriots should also have an  effective role in the energy studies in the Eastern Mediterranean Bryza said: “Turkish Cypriots should also have a role in deciding about the economic future of Cyprus. This role should be determined as soon as possible”
