This coming weekend is perhaps one of the most important to The Royal British Legion and no more so than in North Cyprus to the Royal British Legion Kyrenia Branch and we would like to tell both our locaL and worldwide readership about what events are being planned for the International Remembrance event.

Poppy Walk
Starts at JK’s Bar Lapta at 11.00hrs. Choose from the 10k or 5k routes, register on the day TL20. All proceeds to the RBL Poppy Appeal; sponsorship forms available – contact: events@rblkyrenia.com or call 0533 873 6876. Wear sturdy footwear and bring a drink. Marshalls will be on duty all along these scenic routes.

Remembrance Service and Ceremony
Commences at 12.30hrs at the Old British Cemetery, near the Lefkosa Roundabout in Kyrenia. Please take your seats by 12.15hrs. This is when we remember with thanks and respects those members of the British Armed Forces who paid the ultimate sacrifice whilst serving the Crown in conflicts since 1914, including those who fell during the Cyprus Emergency 1955 – 1959; and those Cypriots who served in the Cyprus Regiment of the British Army during WW2 1939 – 45. Followed by a special lunch at the Ship Inn Karaoglanoglu at 14.00 hours. TL30 pp for a two course Sunday Roast Chicken Luncheon.
