German TFR members donate generously
to health facilities

The German members of the TFR, Heidi and Hartmut Blankenstein, were again the initiators of a generous donation to various health facilities in North Cyprus.
The CYPRUS TODAY newspaper (Author: Anne Canalp) of 28th August 2013 wrote:
Health Centres in Lapta, Dipkarpaz and Yeni Erenköy have scooped a 3,800 Euro windfall of first aid equipment and supplies from a German charity.
TRNC Munich Honorary Representative Uli Piller handed over a gurney, examination couch and first aid materials storage trolley worth a total of 2,400 TL to Dr Sema Emral on Friday morning.
The Lapta Health Centre doctor thanked all concerned and said they had set a wonderful example.
Yeni Erenköy State Health Clinic received a blood pressure monitor and other equipment worth 800 TL.
The Dipkarpaz Health Centre took delivery of a blood pressure monitor and ECG machine valued at 5,500 TL.
The project, which has already seen Girne and Güzelyurt hospitals and the Association for the Deaf receive around 15,000 Euros-worth of support, was co-ordinated by Kaleidoskop Tourism manager Irene Raab.
Charity members toured health centres earlier this year to pinpoint what was needed.
Retired German ambassador Hartmut Blankenstein, who is a member of Germany´s Red Dove charity, said that he had donated the proceeds of his June birthday party last year to the effort.
He added that the aim was also to help disabled people in the TRNC.
