Tulips meet the TRNC Prime Minister

I was very interested to read on the TRNC Prime Minister’s website an article about the visit of Raziye Kocaismail, of Tulips, Help Those With Cancer Association, and her board members to meet with Prime Minister Ünal Üstel.
Having lost my wife Joyce to cancer shortly after arriving in Northern Cyprus and then with my partner Margaret Sheard we gave lots of support and promotion to Tulips who in turn supported Margaret as best they could before her passing.
World leaders need to put aside their ego’s and political aspirations and learn the only war they should fight is that against illnesses and diseases.

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel received the President of Help Those With Cancer Association, Raziye Kocaismail, and the members of the board of directors at the Prime Ministry. Prime Minister Ünal Üstel was accompanied by Berhan Ongan, Undersecretary of the Prime Ministry, and İlgen Bağcıer, Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister’s Office.
Continuing its visits due to the “Fight Against Cancer Week”, the Help Those With Cancer Association (Tulips) paid a visit to Prime Minister Ünal Üstel for this reason.
Speaking during the visit, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel expressed his happiness to see the Help Those With Cancer Association (Tulips).
What can be done to combate Cancer
Emphasizing that the issue of Human Health is one of the issues that the government attaches importance to, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel said, “When it comes to cancer, we should stop and think, and work should be done on what needs to be done to take our people who have this disease one step further to a better life.
As the government, we are trying to do our best to ensure that our people are healed as soon as possible.
As the government, we cannot ignore the efforts of the Help Those With Cancer Association(Tulips) while trying to make the necessary efforts. Since the day it was founded, the association has been working in cooperation with governments. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Help Those With Cancer Association (Tulips) for their efforts.”
Pointing out that the number of Cancer Patients in our country is high, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel said, “Unfortunately, the percentage of Cancer Patients in our country is high and we need to question why the cases of Cancer Diseases in our country have reached this level. Especially during the pandemic process, in the economic process that followed, there were difficulties in accessing medicine from time to time due to the Russia-Ukraine war, and now the Israeli-Palestinian war, which has been going on for six months.
However, we were able to solve these difficulties without wasting much time thanks to the Republic of Turkey and the high-level relations we have established together. In the future, we will continue to provide the medicines that our patients need in a planned and programmed manner, and we will find solutions by eliminating all the problems experienced in the Oncology Hospital.”
Stating that new health centers will be built in the country, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel said, “A tender will be issued for our Güzelyurt Hospital in the coming days, Girne will have a new hospital at the end of this year, and a new Health Center will be built for the people of Lapta and Değirmenlik.
Necessary studies have been carried out for the health centers to be implemented. We aim to implement it as soon as possible with the support of our motherland, the Republic of Turkey.”

Raziye Kocaismail, the President of the Help Those With Cancer Association(Tulips), who made a speech at the reception, said, “The fact that our Prime Minister Ünal Üstel made an appointment for our Association to listen to our problems without us requesting it was so meaningful for us that it made us feel that we were really are loved and needed and this gives us more strength to continue our work.
We would like to thank Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, who has solved many of the unresolved problems of Help Those With Cancer Association (Tulips) for years. Especially during the Pandemic process and in the period after the Earthquake, we, as the Association, had difficulty in overcoming the payments we faced . However, with the support of our government, we were able to overcome this difficult situation.
Our Prime Minister Ünal Üstel is a politician who fulfills his promise. I would like to take this opportunity to thank him again for all the support he has given to our association.”
