GOVERNMENT FORMATION PROCESS CONTINUES
CTP-BG Party Assembly has decided to continue the government formation process primarily with DP-National Forces. The Party Assembly under the presidency of CTP-BG Chairman Özkan Yorgancıoğlu, gathered on Monday evening the 19th August and discussed written replies from the UBP and DP-National Forces for more than 3 hours. CTP-BG Party Assembly decided to continue the government formation process with DP National Forces Party until Thursday under the presidency of Özkan Yorgancıoğlu, after the evaluation of written replies. CTP-BG Party Assembly is to meet again on Thursday evening after the end of the meetings with DP, in order to evaluate the outcome of the meetings with DP and specify the next process.
Having said that the Turkish Cypriot people have many unsolved problems, CTP-BG Party Assembly indicated it would form a compatible and steady government as soon as possible in order to obtain the most useful result. With these evaluations, CTP-BG Party Assembly authorized Chairman Özkan Yorgancıoğlu and the Central Executive Board to launch the official meetings with DP in order to form a coalition government which will pave the way for the progress and reconstruction of the country.
AIR EXERCISE IN EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN
It is reported that South Cyprus, Greece and Israel are going to do a joint major air exercise in the Eastern Mediterranean Area in the second half of next September.
Having reported that the exercise will include the security of the Exclusive Economic Zone of South Cyprus according to a unilateral announcement, Simerini Newspaper reminded that Russia’s request of using the Andreas Papandreou airbase in Paphos is brought to the agenda again.
According to the information issued by TV Channel Sigma, Simerini has reported that the biggest joint air exercise of South Cyprus, Greece and Israel in the area will be carried out. Simerini said that Greek Cypriot Defence Minister, Fotis Fotiu, confirmed the information received about the exercise.
