12th September -Wednesday

Friends of the TRNC Emergency Services (112) Tea Talk at 3pm at The Mountain View Hotel. The speaker will be Steve Sydenham who will be giving a talk called Racing for Britain and will be about his experiences with Formula 1.  To book telephone Brenda Plant on 0533 840 7834.  The cost is 12TL for a nice afternoon tea and there will be the usual raffle and Mike’s goodie bag.

13th September – Thursday

Kyrenia & St Hilarion Rotary Club are having a Gala Dinner at The Malpas Hotel in honour of their District Governor who will be visiting the 3 clubs.  For further information contact Naran Gumus on 0542 8520182

14th September –  Friday

Carpenters Market will resume. There will be an exhibition of original paintings by Pam Schofield and Pam Kennedy together with her ceramics. There is an end of season clothes sale and a new stall selling “doggy” items. If anyone wants to have a stall at the market, these are free of charge. BRS Supper By The Sea at the Deniz Kizi Beach Bar at 7.45pm.  There are still tickets available at The Hut on Wednesday 12th September between 10am and noon – 45TL for members and 50TL for non-members or telephone Grant Miles on 0542 8853224.  There will be a raffle in aid of Help Those With Cancer – Tulips

The Heartbeat Shop next to Girne State Hospital will re-open at 10.00am on Monday 17th September. The shop will be open as normal on Mon/Thu/Fri/Sat every week.

19th September – Wednesday The Children in Need Foundation will be holding a Supper Club Event at the Colony Garden with entertainment by Diane Shaw, a top UK Soul Singer. There will be a 3-course meal and drinks are included. Tickets are £45 or 125TL per head and will be available from the Colony Garden Reception from the 24th August. Coach transport will be available from Karşiyaka with pick up point along the way and arrangements for this should be made with Laurence Floyd who can be contacted at floydlaurence@googlemail.com
26th September – Wednesday  KAR will be holding a summer fund-raising lunch at the Midsummer House, Catalkoy starting at 1pm. Tickets are 35TL per person and can be obtained from the KAR stall at Lambousa Market on Saturdays, from their office, or telephone 0533 8694098.
29th September –  Saturday  The Foreign Residents (TFR) will be holding their Annual General Meeting at 11.30am at the Almond Holiday Village, Alsancak. There will be a buffet lunch after the meeting – members 25TL, guests at the restaurant price. 2nd November –  Friday   RBL Kyrenia Branch will be holding their Poppy Ball at the Cratos Premium Hotel in Catalkoy, starting at 7.30pm. This is open to members and guests. A deposit of 30TL will be required when booking which can be done at Lambousa Saturday Market. There will be a coach from Karsiyaka on a first come first served basis. Discounted accommodation is offered by the Cratos and reservations should be made by contacting Jacqui Smith at the Cratos on 0533 8203105
