Sealed Famagusta Workplace Continued Illegal Operations

A workplace in Famagusta that had previously been sealed due to hygiene violations was found to be operating illegally at a different location. During inspections carried out by the Famagusta (Gazimağusa) Municipality Police (Zabıta) Unit following a tip-off, it was determined that the business had continued production without the required permits and licences.

Inspections revealed that the production area failed to comply with basic hygiene standards. Product storage conditions were found to be in violation of legislation, and expired products were identified. As the situation posed a direct threat to public health, immediate action was taken by inspection teams.

All products at the workplace were confiscated. In accordance with relevant legislation, an administrative fine equivalent to one gross minimum wage was imposed on the business owner, and legal proceedings were initiated.

Famagusta Municipality (Zabıta) Police Unit Officer, Harun Oza, stated that activities endangering public health will not be tolerated. He emphasised that all reports received are carefully evaluated and that inspections across the city will continue without interruption.
