6 Km Night Run was a Milestone Event in Northern Cyprus

Strong Turnout at the 6 Km Night Run

The inaugural 6-kilometer night run, conducted as part of the Karaoğlanoğlu Sports Games and Sea Festival organized by Girne Municipality, marked a significant event for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Held on Sunday evening, July 6, 2025, the event attracted broad participation.

Commencing at 20:30 with 141 registered runners, participants experienced a unique course illuminated by starlight and a full moon. The route began at Villagio Templos Olive Grove and culminated at Antis Beach.

Organized in cooperation with the TRNC Athletics Federation, the event successfully combined athletic competition with the distinctive setting provided by nighttime conditions. Both athletes and spectators enjoyed the occasion, which featured competitors across women’s, men’s, and youth divisions. The night run emerged as a highlight of the Karaoğlanoğlu Sports Games and Sea Festival.
