President Ersin Tatar speaking of a future, Terror-Free Türkiye

Statement of President Ersin Tatar on the process for a “Terror-Free Türkiye and the declaration by the terrorist organisation to dissolve itself”

It is my greatest wish

“It is my greatest wish that the process for a Terror-Free Türkiye brings about a final end to the conflict and tensions in our region, and for peace to be restored.”

President Ersin Tatar has expressed the support of the TRNC to the “process for a Terror-Free Türkiye” and welcomed the declaration by the terrorist organisation to lay down arms and dissolve itself.

President Tatar, who issued a written statement on the development, said: “It is my greatest wish for the process for a Terror-Free Türkiye to pave the way to a final end to decades of terrorism, conflict, and tensions in our region, that is replaced by peace. I hope these positive steps will put an end to the pain and tears of mothers and that lives will no longer be lost.”

The Peace Process can now be started

“The stage that has been reached in the process for a Terror-Free Türkiye has been reached with the visionary leadership of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the Republic of Türkiye, and the courageous and selfless determination of the Chairman of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), Mr. Devlet Bahçeli. This development is a great source of happiness for the Turkish Cypriot people,” President Tatar said.

 President Tatar continued: “Türkiye has been subjected to separatist terrorist acts for decades–over a period exceeding 40 years, resulting in the loss of tens of thousands of her citizens and the martyrdoms of civilians, security forces, the military, and the police. The process for a “Terror-Free Türkiye”, which has been conducted as a state initiative with great sensitivity, has heralded the beginning of a new climate of peace and tranquillity, embracing the whole of Türkiye and our region with the announcement that the terrorist organisation has dissolved itself and will lay down its arms.

The TRNC is Happy for The Republic of Türkiye

The Turkish Cypriot people, who have always supported the Republic of Türkiye and the brotherly Turkish nation, are happy to share the joy with Motherland Türkiye. “It is our wish that this exemplary process, which demonstrates that significant political and social problems can only be solved through the exercise of democratic will, dialogue and mutual understanding, be concluded with success and that the decisions taken will be implemented rigidly. We wholeheartedly hope that “A Terror-Free Türkiye ” will not only help mothers dry their tears, but also put a final end to the conflicts and tension in our region, that is replaced by peace.”
