CyprusScene Shouts From The UK 1

A Journey Through CyprusScene’s History to the UK

By Chris Elliott…

My journey began when I left the UK with my late wife, Joyce, for an exciting opportunity with a TRNC company. After her passing, I dedicated time to supporting Terry Carter and the **Civil Emergency Service Volunteers (CESV)**, an organization providing first aid training and event support in collaboration with **Sivil Savunma (TRNC Civil Defence)**.

Later, I partnered with my neighbour, **Margaret Sheard**, and together, we embarked on a media adventure that led to the creation of **CyprusScene.com**. Initially, we contributed articles to local newspapers, but soon realized the challenges of distributing print media. This led us to take CyprusScene online, expanding our reach to a global audience.

Margaret’s dedication resulted in a highly successful newspaper filled with compelling news and reviews. Unfortunately, she bravely battled cancer, and I took on more responsibilities until her passing. Keeping our media dream alive has been challenging, but the passion for sharing Northern Cyprus stories remains strong.

The Future of CyprusScene

With the evolving landscape of news sharing, social media has become a powerful tool for spreading information. Many now share article links and engage in discussions within online communities. CyprusScene will continue to support contributors who wish to share their stories in greater detail, ensuring their voices reach a worldwide audience.

I want to express my gratitude to our dedicated contributors, including **Ata Atun, Damla Beton, Eren and Serman Erdogan, Roland Eyerich, Cem Hudaverdim, Hugh Jarrs, Demetra George Mustafaoglu,Oz Orman, Peri Sualp, Ismail Veli, A A Wisley, Fahri Zihni**, and many others. Their insights and stories have enriched CyprusScene over the years.

As I settle into my new life in the UK, I look forward to continuing CyprusScene’s mission—bringing **TRNC news and reviews** to the world while occasionally sharing updates from the UK.

Wishing you all a belated and wonderful 2025.
