From the English School of Kyrenia….
Hi Chris, I am writing from The English School of Kyrenia. We have some exciting news to share if you would like to publish it. The British High Commission, Mr Michael Tatham, visited ESK to award students with the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award certificates.
ESK Celebrating Excellence – The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award
Last week, The English School of Kyrenia had the honour of hosting the British High Commissioner, Mr. Michael Tatham CMG, who presented 43 students with the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award (DofE), Bronze and Silver Certificates.

As the only school in the north of Cyprus to offer this program, the DofE International Award plays a vital role in preparing young people for life. It recognises students who have
1) Made meaningful contributions to their local community through volunteer work,
2) Pushed their boundaries/challenged themselves to successfully complete an adventurous journey in the mountains of Cyprus – covering distances of approximately 25km, 40km, and 75km over two, three, or four days, respectively, and
3) Developed personal and teamwork skills throughout the experience.

It is inspiring to witness students challenging themselves and growing in confidence. ESK students are world-ready!
