ARUCAD From Broken to Beautiful US Ehibition
Following the Sustainable Art competition called “From Broken to Beautiful”, organized in cooperation with Arkın University of Creative Arts and Design (ARUCAD) and BOCCHI, which is a leader in the bathroom and kitchen products industry with 70 years of experience, the winning works were exhibited at the prestigious KBIS Trade Fair held in Las Vegas.
From Broken to Beautiful exhibition
The competition called “From Broken to Beautiful”, which was held by BOCCHI by re-evaluating kitchen and bathroom sinks that were industrially produced but damaged or broken for various reasons, using the creativity of ARUCAD students, stood out as a platform emphasizing the importance of sustainable art. The exhibited works contributed to increasing environmental awareness by supporting the “Zero Waste” goal by recycling and reusing materials in artistic creations.
Competition winners
As a result of the jury evaluation, the works of Nina Nazarova, a third-year student of the Department of Plastic Arts, who came first, Alika Onarova, a second-year student of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, who came second, and Sevgi Songur, a fourth-year student of the Department of Plastic Arts, who came third, won the Industrial Design Prize, which won the Special Jury Prize. The works of Design Department student Anna Plieva and ARUCAD Plastic Arts Department Graduate Tülay Pirgalıoğlu were also exhibited at the prestigious KBIS Kitchen and Bathroom Industry Trade Fair held in Las Vegas, USA, between 27-29 February.
Proceeds from the exhibition will be donated to three separate non-profit organizations operating in the United States, Turkey, and internationally to support sustainability and environmental projects.
