Introduction by Chris Elliott….

Further to our recent article  “ Why is the UN struggling to get the Cyprob solved?” which was based upon the enormous amount of facts from the internet which sadly shows the Greek Cypriots and their supporters have overshadowed the Turkish Cypriots when promoting the TRUTH of Cyprob throughout the years.

So it’s good that one of our readers, Ufuk Yilmaz was concerned that the question of the EU’s decision for the so-called Republic of Cyprus to become a member has led to a progressive move by the RoC to maintain their superiority and drive for control and dominance for the whole of the Island of Cyprus.

Their continued unwillingness to agree to UN reunification plans and then their demands being fully supported by the EU, UN, UK and the US, etc who dream of re-unification which the RoC only wants on their terms, which means total control and dominance of the Turkish Cypriots just like in the early 1960’s but without ethnic cleansing attempts.

Dear Chris,

As always thank you for your contributions towards our cause.

However, I was rather disappointed that in issue 276 of your CyprusScene online e-newspaper, you appear to give credence to EU’s admittance of the so-called RoC into membership by stating that it “had not broken any of its own rules”.

This is in direct contradiction to President Tatar’s assertion that the EU ignored its own conditionality rule. (Kerem Haser, “The Vision For Two States In Cyprus”, ISBN 9786057238009, p.148). Here is just one quote from the Copenhagen Criteria:

“….guaranteeing democracy, the rule of law, human rights, respect for and protection of minorities…..”. This, is at a time when Turkish Cypriots were/are isolated from the rest of the World!

Expressions of ‘concern’ over “the ongoing division” do not justify that decision. “EU was duped”. That claim was made by Jack Straw, former British Foreign Secretary, Financial Mirror, on 8th September 2023. Also please see his article in Politico, 7th September 2023: “We should never have let Cyprus join the EU”.

But the EU did not just break its own rules. It also went against the internationally agreed 1960 constitution of the original RoC, that ‘it could not join any union of which the guarantor States were not all members of’.

We have become accustomed to the EU changing its rules to suit their circumstances at the time. Remember they used to ‘stop the clock’ so the agreements were signed off as planned?

Best regards,

Ufuk Yilmaz.”

  1. A good Assessment of the EU breaking or modifying its own rules.
But Human made Rules are often made to accommodate the Existing conditions.
The Roc entry to the EU, has been Accommodated for One Particular occasion of when the EU had decided to include 10 new Members mostly, well below the Recommended standards required for Admission.
But as The Vote was prepared to be made, an EU Members with the name of Greece Declared that, She Would be Vetoing this Plan, Unless it was Expanded To 11 , To The Inclusion of the Roc.
So IT WAS,BLACK MAILED, Into the Act, rather then stay parameters, Of which, It being A European Community, By Accepting AN Asi attic Island in to a Eurozone map.
They even Modified the Map to accommodate the Island closer to Europe.
So Talking about Establishing Rules, Could only be false claims.

  2. The financial ministry of the Roc , declared that, This year alone is over 1.6 Billion Euros, on top of the Previous Year’s.
An Earlier Statement by the Ministry indicated that the population of Roc, which included the new Born was in the Average Dept of 30000 Euros per person.
So Which part of this Situation are we Prepared to Share with our Beloved Neighbours Predicaments???
The Above are All Official Statements, and can be Sourced from the Official Department.
