TRNC Assembly and the Turkish Friendship Group Meeting

The Türkiye-TRNC Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group delegation has been holding contacts in the TRNC. 

 A working meeting was held between the inter-parliamentary friendship groups of the Republic of Türkiye and the TRNC.

Speaking at the opening of the meeting, the head of the TRNC-Türkiye Parliamentary Friendship Group Resmiye Canaltay expressed her gratitude for hosting the Turkish Friendship Group in the TRNC. 

Stating that gathering with the group members will yield valuable results, Canaltay underlined that the Turkish Cypriot people have never compromised their national and religious identity and freedom in any period of their history and have always resisted against the attacks. 

Noting that the Turkish Cypriots have always struggled, Resmiye Canaltay said that TRNC is the symbol of our freedom, sovereignty, future, and determination to progress in safety. 

The Chairman of the Friendship Group of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Orhan Erdem said in his speech that Cyprus has a special importance among their responsibilities. Erdem also drew attention to the fact that they strongly support the vision of a two-state solution.
