Review of Petek Patisserie in Iskele

Petek is far more than a simple Patisserie.  Certainly, there are masses of delicious cakes and pastries and tonnes of in-house made Turkish Delight, but there is also a really tasty range of normal meals.

There are several branches of Petek (and a factory making Turkish Delight in Famagusta), but the one we frequent the most is on the main coast road between Iskele and Bogaz. It is a perfect venue for Breakfast with kids as there is a nice little covered soft play area.

The wide range of Turkish breakfast options makes choosing difficult, but I opt for Menemen every time!  I have tried this wonderful dish in many places, but none was better than here.  The combination of eggs and tomatoes with tasty spices is perfection.  It is serviced with the most delicious crispy brown bread rolls. It makes my mouth water just thinking about it!

For kids the best option is to choose from the variety of warm-filled Turkish pastries; Helium and chicken being our favourite.

With a pot of Turkish Cay, the kids playing contentedly in the play area; what better way to start the day?  But let us not forget that afternoon cakes and pastries are also well worth considering…..

Prices are very reasonable; 2 adults and a child should enjoy a breakfast for under TL500.
