T.C. Amateur Seaman Certificate (ADB) and Short Distance Radio (KMT) operator training and examinations organised by the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation were held at Near East University (NEU).
The training and examination received great participation in the Great Library Hall 4, starting with the speech of Kemal Bağzıbağlı, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation.
Undersecretary Bağzıbağlı stated that by 2023, one out of every four people will have set out to be amateur seafarers, and said that they shared the same thoughts by emphasizing the importance by the late President Rauf Raif Denktaş.
Following the Undersecretary’s speech, Republic of Turkey Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure Special Adviser for Maritime Affairs, Retired Marine Staff Lieutenant Colonel and Marine Lawyer, Ali Kurumahmut, made a presentation and then passed the training and examinations. Ahmet Selçuk Sert, General Director of Marine and Inland Waters Regulation of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Turkey was among the guests coming from Ankara.
After the training and examinations of the second ADB and first KMT operator training, close to 500 people will have received ADB and the Ministry aims to increase the number of ADB certification in the country to 2,000 by the end of 2020.
