We were so pleased to be able to attend the unveiling of the Cyprus Rock Memorial at the National Arboretum in Alrewas, Staffordshire, UK on 21st August 2016.
Later that year on 16th November, we made another visit to the Arboretum and at that time, being close to Remembrance Sunday, we laid a wreath and crosses given to us by the then Chairman, Brian Thomas, on behalf of the Royal British Legion, Kyrenia Branch. Click here
Sadly we haven’t been able to attend any of the following annual services which are held on the closest Sunday to the unveiling date of 21st August.
We were pleased to receive the following information from RBL :
“ Stephen Day, RBL member and Cyprus Today columnist, laid a wreath on Monday 1st July 2019 on the Cyprus Rock memorial at the National Arboretum, Alrewas, Staffordshire, on behalf of the RBL Kyrenia Branch in honour of those who died in the service of the Crown during the Cyprus Emergency of the late 1950’s. “
