Ünal Üstel, Minister of Tourism and Environment, visited the border crossing of Lefkoşa Lokmacı.
Every day an average of 3,000 people cross the border at Lokmaci, and are under the sun in the summer, and in winter in the rain. Ustel said we intend to provide weather protection to the people entering the country.
Minister of Tourism and Environment Üstel during the investigations said that for the people entering and leaving the country, considering the problems they face at the Lokmaci border, he will introduce permanent measures for the summer and winter months.
A modern wooden canopy will be erected to provide convenience for the people who are waiting during the entry and exit operations and the work will begin within one week and hopefully will be completed before the Bayram holiday.
Explaining that they will look into the lack of personnel, which is one of the reasons of the intensity at the border gates, Ustel said that the Council of Ministers has taken a decision on this issue and the problem will be resolved as soon as possible.
