Being involved with the Temiz Kibris/A Clean Cyprus group we noted an appeal from Meliz Ahmet asking for help and support for a beach clean to be held on Saturday 3rd August from 9.00am to 10.30am in Yeni Erenkoy in the Karpaz and we are sharing the information here.
Hi Temiz Kıbrıs!
So nice to see the work you are doing in Cyprus and how much of an impact it is having.
My sister and I have spent the last few months living at the point of Cyprus in Karpaz, where the waters are beautiful. Unfortunately we have been saddened to see how much rubbish and plastics there are along some of the coast.
So we have organised a clean up – it will be on Saturday 3rd August early morning. We have a few places we will focus on cleaning up.
We are hoping to get as many people as possible.

We wanted to ask if you would show support for our event by sharing it on your website? And invite some friends you think might be interested.
Meeting at 9 am on Saturday the 3rd of August.
What you need to bring:
Garden gloves (we will have some but not enough for everyone)
Water and a snack for yourself
Hat
Sunscreen
Bathers for a quick swim afterwards (optional)
If we get a big enough group together we will organise a bus that will take us from Lefkosa to Karpaz.
For those who’d like to drive and meet us there, we will meet you at Cyprus Bungalows (search ‘Cyprus Bungalows’ in google maps).
If anyone has a bluetooth speaker please bring along! We will be providing bags for the clean up so you won’t need to bring any.
After the clean up, we will be sorting and cleaning the bits we can reuse or recycle with Precious Plastic Cyprus. You’re welcome to stay for this.
If you have been to Karpaz, you will know how beautiful the beaches are here. Let’s make them even nicer!
