Minister of Tourism and Environment, Ünal Üstel, met HAK-SEN, KTAMS and KAMU-İŞ officials and had discussions with them separately.
Minister of Tourism and Environment Ünal Üstel, welcomed the Presidents and members of te Board of Directors of HAK-SEN, KTAMS and KAMU-İŞ unions and in his speech said for the public, public personnel and generally for the future of the state, he would be open to all kinds of cooperation, constructive criticism and alternative ideas and he would be pleased to consult and cooperate with the trade unions on behalf of unity.
Üstel said in the country’s tourism sector and working in this area, for both public and private sector employees, working conditions should be good. The result of a good working environment, especially in the country’s economy, will contribute greatly to tourism. At this point, he underlined that they are open to all kinds of cooperation and dialogue with NGOs in order to improve the working conditions of the employees.
Minister Üstel first received the HAK-SEN delegation consisting of İzzet Türkmen, Chairman of the Equal Rights and Justice Union (HAK-SEN) and members of the Board of Directors.
Stating that they will support the steps to be taken for the tourism sector to make better contributions to the country’s economy, Turkmen said that the country has passed through difficult conditions and that everyone should put their hands to the wheel. Turkmen also gave information about the activities of the union, and said that they grow steadily every year and in some institutions have become competent unions.
Minister of Tourism and Environment Ünal Üstel, next met with the Turkish Cypriot Public Servants Union (KTAMS) President Güven Bengihan and the Union Board members.
Speaking at the meeting, KTAMS President Güven Bengihan stated that the aim of the visit was to wish the Minister success in his new position and to convey that they are ready for any kind of cooperation that would be in the best interests of the public personnel.
Bengihan pointed out that their understanding as a union is not only to criticise but also to produce alternatives to any issues and that they are always in favour of cooperation and dialogue.
Finally, the Minister received a delegation consisting of Ahmet Serdaroğlu, President of the Public Workers Union (KAMU-İŞ) and members of the Board of Directors of the Union.
Ahmet Serdaroglu wished Minister Ustel success in his ministry duty. Minister Üstel said that he had previously served as the Minister of Tourism, and will resolve the problems and deficiencies and achieve solutions in a short time.
Serdaroğlu, stated that for the workers in the public domain, working conditions are attracting attention at the same rate as efficiency. He has always believed that dialogue and cooperation can overcome problems, and this is due to the understanding of responsible unionism.
