I was just wondering if you have heard anything about updating one’s deeds – according to the satellite plan. Apparently the cadastral says there are modifications to be done – within a month.

Can you please advise me on this?

Dear Selma Ahmet

The Turkish Cypriot Government are trying to move forward with technology in trying to simplify and speed up the house purchasing process.

They have discovered the old technology was very outdated and inaccurate.

In recognising this shortfall they have enlisted the resources of Turkey, hence the land measurement procedure is going through a period of augmentation.

If you wish to enquire whether you will be affected you can go to the Land Registry Office in Girne and make your enquiries.
