Minister of Labour and Social Security Faiz Sucuoğlu visited the Olive Tree Education and Solidarity Association (ZAYDER) and received information about the activities of the Association.
Sucuoğlu met with Rabia Özcömert, the Chairman of the Board of the Association, which has branches in Girne, Nicosia and Famagusta and attracted attention for the help of families and people in need throughout the country.
Rabia Özcömert stated that the Association supports families in need through a food and clothing bank and that they provide support to children, families, sick and elderly people and individuals with special needs.
Özcömert said that they are trying to encourage the needy housewives to produce handcrafted items. Özcömert asked for the support of Minister Sucuoğlu, stating that they need a place that will allow the sale of women’s handcrafted products in the Surlariçi region.
Minister of Labour and Social Security Faiz Sucuoğlu expressed his great excitement regarding the visit to the Olive Tree Education and Solidarity Association and pointed out that the production model of the Association for women in need is a good example. Sucuoğlu underlined the importance of supporting the Association on a voluntary basis, which provides opportunities for women and mothers to work by producing and contributing. Sucuoğlu noted that the projects aiming to gain profit from the work of disabled citizens by participating in production will be initiated in the coming days and added that the Ministry is ready to support the activities of the Association and congratulated the Association for its work.
