Good start to the season for Tatlısu

By Richard Beale ……..

Last Saturday the BTM League 2 got underway and Tatlısu achieved something they couldn’t manage last season – they won a game!

Result : TATLISU SERACILAR SK 4 CİVİSIL SK 2

Saturday April 20: BTM League 2 : Tatlısu Rauf Raif Denktas Stadium.

BTM League, Group 5 Season 2019-20: Tatlisu Seracilar SK and Civisil SK

A civilised early morning kick off time of 10.30am, meant the match finished at around 12.30am, just enough time to down a couple of pints before heading to Esentepe to watch their match! Always the professional!

Civisil a new club from the Famagusta area started well with their two 16 year olds Samet Dolu and Onur Gündoğan catching the eye.

Tatlısu Goalkeeper Sinan made a good diving save from a shot from Ahmet Altun. The Tatlısu goalkeeper was in action again in the 20th minute when youngster Onur made room for himself and sent in a shot that Sinan pushed over the bar for a corner. From that corner the goalkeeper again got in a good punch to clear the ball.

Tatlısu were struggling to come to terms with the Civisil offside trap which was causing them and their fans frustration.

Against the run of play Tatlısu took the lead with a well worked goal in the 17th minute, created by their new signing from Lapta striker Göksel Soyer who made a run down the left before crossing to TALHA ATEŞ whose first time shot crept in between the post and the diving Civisil Goalkeeper Ahmet Aköz. HALF TIME SCORE 1-0

Tatlısu immediately scored from the start of the second half when GÖKSEL SOYER scored with an angled header from a Ramazan left wing cross. 2-0.

50th minute Civisil got themselves back in the game following a clumsy challenge by Tatlısu Captain Murat and ILTAÇ converted the penalty. 2-1

Poor defending again by Tatlısu from a free kick, resulted in AHMET ALTUN heading in at the far post in the 58th minute to make it  2-2

Civisil (light blue strip) putting pressure on Tatlisu.

Civisil nearly took the lead in the 62nd minute when Ahmet Altun was inches away from converting an Okan cross.

It was an entertaining game as both teams tired, the match could have gone either way. Tatlısu had a goal disallowed for a foul on a defender when Ramazan converted a good cross from substitute Zafer, another impressive 16 year old.

Tatlısu did regain the lead in the 83rd minute when GÖKSEL SOYER converted a left wing Ramazan cross. 3-2

RAMAZAN ÇORUK in injury time sealed the match when Göksel returned the compliment passing unselfishly for Ramazan to score. FULL TİME SCORE – 4-2.

SUMMING UP : In the end a deserved win for Tatlısu, who looked a much better balanced team from what they were last season. In Göksel they have a proven goalscorer and he linked up well with Ramazan. Hakan, Musa and Talha worked well together in midfield and Captain Murat and Barış formed an effective partnership at the back.

MAN OF THE MATCHGÖKSEL SOYER.
