Minister of Public Works and Transportation Tolga Atakan announced that work on the remaining sections of the Lefkoşa Northern By-Pass will begin soon, a project designed to ease traffic on the Gönyeli Roundabout thus lowering the number of cars using Dr. Fazıl Küçük Boulevard.
Minister Atakan tweeted:
“The problem with regards to the final plot on the Lefkoşa Northern By-Pass has been resolved today. Works to open the section of the road between Lefkoşa-Girne dual carriageway and Taşkent will immediately begin.”
The work on Lefkoşa Northern By-Pass came to a halt in 2013 after the court gave interim orders for several plots, blocking their expropriation.
