Fuat Oktay: “Turkey will make no concessions for its interests in Cyprus”

Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay stated that Turkey will make no concessions for its interests, neither in Cyprus nor in the Aegean.

Oktay evaluated the Cyprus issue and the natural gas exploration works. Speaking during the Plenary Session of the Turkish Grand National Assembly at the meeting for the 2019 year budget, Oktay said that Turkey will never make even any small concessions regarding its interests both in Cyprus and the Aegean on the issue of hydrocarbon reserves in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Furthermore, Oktay added “Turkey will never allow Greece and the Greek Cypriot Administration, which were privileged especially by the European Union, to take steps against Turkey and the Turkish Cypriots. We show our determination with our military power and energy policy as well as our diplomatic initiatives”.
