Akıncı to receive Spehar

President Mustafa Akıncı will receive UN Secretary General’s Special Representative to Cyprus Elizabeth Spehar tomorrow (9th October). Akıncı and Spehar are expected to discuss the preparations regarding the opening of Derinya and Aplıç gates as soon as possible.

Uluçay attends the meeting of Speakers of Eurasian Countries’ Parliaments

TRNC Speaker of the Assembly Teberrüken Uluçay travelled to Antalya to attend the 3rd Meeting of Speakers of Eurasian Countries’ Parliaments to be held in the province of Antalya, in Turkey, on 8-11 October 2018.

The main agenda of the meeting of Speakers of Eurasian Countries’ Parliaments will be ‘ensuring security and stability in Eurasia.’

Members of the Committee on Missing Persons in Cyprus attended the international conference in Ukraine

Members of the Committee on Missing Persons participated in the conference in Kiev, Ukraine on 4th and 5th October 2018, as experts on missing persons.

Turkish Cypriot member Gülden Plümer Küçük, Greek Cypriot member Nestoras Nestoros, and the United Nations representative Paul-Henri Arni delivered speeches at the conference entitled “Integral Approach to Identifying the Fate of Missing Persons and Supporting their Families”.

The conference, which was organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross, was attended by officials from the committees of missing persons in Sri Lanka, Colombia, Georgia, Northern Ireland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iraq, Peru, Nigeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Cyprus.
