The Undersecretary of the TRNC Ministry of Tourism and Environment, Dr Ismet Esenyel has received the honour of being appointed Ambassador of the World Association for Hospitality and Tourism Education and Training (AMFORHT).
Philippe François, President of the World Association for Hospitality and Tourism Education and Training (AMFORHT), founded by the United Nations; appointed Undersecretary of the TRNC Ministry of Tourism and Environment, Dr İsmet Esenyel, as AMFORHT Ambassador for his contributions to the hotel industry, tourism education and development.
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Environment Dr. İsmet Esenyel stated that the appointment as Ambassador of AMFORHT, which was established by the United Nations and created by distinguished people, is an important step in terms of representation of the country. “AMFORHT, is one of the most prestigious tourism associations in the world, where I was a member in 2009 and had the honour of being appointed Vice Chairman in 2014. The hard work and cooperation we have put forward in AMFORHT has been appreciated by President Philippe François and members of the Board of Directors; it is one of the most important tourism destinations in the Mediterranean region and great efforts have been made to spread the tourism potential of Northern Cyprus, which is a hidden tourism paradise, to the world.” Esenyel emphasized that this is the biggest proof of what can be achieved if we are accepted as Turkish Cypriots.
Esenyel, stated that they would work with the aim to publicise the tourism market in North Cyprus and Turkey, to the Middle East and countries in the Caucasus and European Union countries, under the roof of AMFORHT.
Founded by the United Nations in 1969, the AMFORHT association, known for its tourism professionals and academics, is located in France.
