UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative Elizabeth Spehar will be meeting separately with President Mustafa Akıncı and Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Anastasiades ahead of her visit to New York.
Spehar will be meeting with the two leaders tomorrow (6th July).

Dear President Akinci, please ask the Turkish Cypriots if they would still prefer a Federation
with our friends across the border, I suspect Not!!
Can we we please stop this Cat & Mouse game with our friends and instead concentrate
on our freedom as Turkish Cypriots and not as slaves to them.
My memory reminds me that as a child I remember the cry of Taksim from us and Enosis from the other, so please may we have a negotiated Taksim and hand over as much land as is needed to them to achieve this. And if they wish they can have their Enosis with their land !
Better to be a free bird in a small cage with the door open than a bird in a large cage with the door locked.
Will somebody please start a petition on what I’m saying and perhaps one day we will gain our freedom.
