Fighting for the survival of nature – Nilgün Güney and her art group at the Taşkent Nature Park – 28th April to 12th May.

By Heidi Trautmann …

Have you ever looked into the eyes of a Praying Mantis? Did you ever lie down in your garden and watch the ants carry away all kinds of seed; have you observed the silvery spur a snail leaves behind her? Have you ever properly studied the work of a spider and the drops of morning dew in her finished web?

If we are not careful, we may lose it all.

There is a newly developed nature park in Taşkent up in the mountains, and there in the Culture House of the Picnic Area, Nilgün and her group have brought their works to display. They wanted to do something with the means they have at their disposal, that is art…Let us fight the abuse of the environment with art, let us show people the beauty of nature and its inhabitants.

Nearby in the premises of the Nature Park they already have given home to animals that were injured, in or by human society, and this is what the art group is supporting, the awareness in just that society of a right to live for all living beings, even the smallest.

Thank you, Nilgün and friends, for your work.
