It was good to see a posting as under from the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation website that further road repairs are currently underway on the Çatalköy-Değirmenlik Road. It was also good to note that their personnel and police have been continuously inspecting heavy vehicles for the past few weeks to determine whether they were carrying more load than their capacity allows and whether they had permits to operate.
“Minister of Public Works and Transportation Tolga Atakan announced yesterday (20.03.2018) that the road with potholes near Arapköy junction on the Çatalköy-Değirmenlik Road (Girne mountain road) will be filled and resurfaced. Atakan said works on that section of the road was planned to be completed tomorrow (22.03.2018).

Atakan said the ministry had received a lot of complaints with regards to the potholes from drivers and they were taking quick action to partially renew that section of the road. On the other hand, the minister also stated inspections of lorries and trucks were continuing.
