The National Education and Culture Minister, Cemal Özyiğit, visited the Mayor of Girne, Nidai Gungördü, and discussed the schools which come within the scope of the Girne Municipality.
Cemal Özyiğit, the Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (TDP) and the Minister of National Education and Culture visited the Municipality of Girne with a delegation accompanying him and exchanged views with the Girne Mayor about the current construction of a school building in Karakum as a primary school and a school which is not used in Bellapais to be converted into a kindergarten.
Güngördü: We have spent 2,175,000TL on schools
Girne Mayor Nidai Güngördü spoke during the visit, pointing out that 15% of the real estate tax collected from Girne should be used for regional schools but that this money has not been spent for schools for many years. Nidai Güngördü pointed out that they had spent about 2,175,000TL on public schools in 36 months and that they will continue to contribute to the public schools within the scope of the possibilities.
