The TRNC has been promoted in eight different countries during the first one and a half months of 2018.
Among the fairs attended by the Ministry of Tourism and Environment were: the Vakantieberus Fair in Holland; Ferien Messe in Austria; CMT The Holiday Exhibition in Stuttgart; Emitt in İstanbul; Destinations in London; Matka in Finland; the Brussels Holiday Show in Belgium; and the Holiday World Show in the Czech Republic.
Representatives of the Ministry and the tourism sector held meetings with international tour operators, while cultural, health, ecological and the other kinds of alternative tourism were promoted to guests at the fairs.
The TRNC stands are met with intense interest every year, said Minister of Tourism and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu, who added that these international fairs and organisations represent the most important activities for promoting the country.
Underlining that these promotion and marketing activities will continue in earnest in 2018, Ataoğlu continued, “In this period, we have planned to increase our promotion and marketing budget for the European market. We are planning to undertake much more active studies in the field of promotion, and are trying to find ways to be much more helpful for the activities of tour operators and agencies.”
