The Ministry of Tourism and Environment presented the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus at the “Destinations” Holiday & Travel Show 2018 held at Olympia in London”, between 1st and 4th February.
On the North Cyprus stand there were maps, CDs, guides and information brochures which had been prepared in English and tourism facilities offered by the TRNC were introduced. Food and beverages reflecting Turkish Cypriot culture were offered to visitors.
Tourism and Environment Minister Fikri Ataoglu emphasized that Britain has a great potential for North Cyprus, expressing that it is an important country where for many years the greatest number of tourists have come from within the foreign markets.
Ataoglu pointed out that a large part of this important market, which is familiar with the historical and cultural assets of our region, are visiting Southern Cyprus and stressed that the Ministry is working on new strategies to reverse this.
Underlining the need to increase the contribution made to the UK Tourism Office, Ataoglu stated that the publicity activities will be extended not only to the UK market but also to destinations such as Northern Ireland and Scotland.
Pointing out that active marketing activities in the UK will continue, Ataoğlu emphasized that the necessary steps will be taken to focus on the markets where potential tourists can be encouraged to visit our country.
