Well done Esentepe Football Club on finishing the first half of the season in second place in the League. The season now closes for around a month as the snow, ice and cold invade the island.
Esentepe Coach Davut Kansu has worked wonders with the team, after a close season where a number of talented players were transferred. Esentepe has limited resources and as usual always has a shortage of funds.
This is Davut’s first major Coaching appointment coming here last season and getting Esentepe into the “play offs”. Last season’s success has been repeated and I have been very impressed with him since he has been here. He is not a “rant and raver’, he has a very calm and relaxed manner about him and obviously a sound knowledge of the game.
I have no doubt about his ability to Coach in the Super League, hopefully with Esentepe!
The team has performed brilliantly suffering only 2 defeats, these were in successive matches in October and have finished the first half of the season 9 matches unbeaten. Just a word of caution if you follow Esentepe we either start well and finish poorly or vice versa, let’s hope this season we break the trend.
The season recommences at the end of January and the first match will be away to Akova.
