By Margaret Sheard ….

“Deck the halls with boughs of holly”, so the carol goes, and Holman Hall certainly lives up to this, with the huge Christmas tree and twinkling lights, it is a sight to behold.

Nigel and Lynn Holman invited many guests to their beautiful home to celebrate Christmas on Saturday 23rd December, which has become an annual event, and it is always a wonderful occasion, when people can dress in formal style and enjoy a traditional Christmas evening.

During the evening we were treated to carol singing with the choir standing on each side of the lovely staircase and everyone joins in with help from their song sheets.   This year there was the addition of musicians – the Cyprus Strings which was founded by Ammar Dadizadeh.

The wine flowed, as did the conversation, and later the guests wandered to the kitchen where there was a lovely supper being served and soon everyone was enjoying the food which had been prepared.

As normal there were many familiar faces and a chance to catch up with people we don’t see very often.  The music went up a tempo and those that were feeling energetic started dancing.   Speaking to Nigel during the evening he said that he feels their home is an absolutely ideal place for this type of gathering, and it certainly is.

Thank you once again to Nigel and Lynn for opening your beautiful home – Holman Hall – for a celebration of the festive season in North Cyprus.
