Yesterday Ex Arsenal and Galatasaray Emmanuel Eboue (34), became the second Ex- Premier League player to sign for a TRNC Football Club.

Eboue signed for Supa League Club Turk Ocaği Limasol and could make his debut this Sunday Oct 1 against Genclik Gucu in the National Atatürk Stadium, Lefkoşa (4-00pm).

The Ivory Coast International will surely put extra “bums on the seat” an is a major coup for the TRNC and Local Football attracting a player of his calibre.

I remember Eboue in his Arsenal days as a tough tackling right back who liked to get forward at every opportunity. He also played in midfield where sometimes his robust approach led him into trouble with the referee.

Between 2004 till 2011, he made 214 appearances for Arsenal scoring 10 times. In 2011 he joined Turkish Club Galatasaray where he made 102 total appearances scoring 5 times, until he was released in 2015. He joined Sunderland on a short term contract in 2016, but failed to make a League appearance for them.

EMMANNUEL EBOUE  Left in his Arsenal days and right playing for Galatasaray.

Eboue joins another Ex- Premier League player LUA LUA ( Lomana Tresor), the Ex Congolese International (36), joined newly promoted Supa League Club Merit Alsancak Yesilova in May. He made his Supa League debut last weekend scoring from the penalty spot in Alsancak’s 2-2 home draw against Doğan Türk Birligi.

Lua Lua started his English footballing career at Colchester in 1998, and went on to make 61 appearances for the U,s scoring 15 times. This attracted the “big boys” and he was transferred to Newcastle United where he became a fans favourite scoring 9 goals in 67 matches between 2000 and 2004. A further transfer saw him at Portsmouth where he scored 19 times in 87 matches. His final English Club was Blackpool (2011-12) where he made 29 appearances and scored 4 goals. After that he played for various Turkish League Clubs.
