The TRNC fly the Tourism Flag in Azerbaijan and Turkey

By Chris Elliott…….

Through our contacts at the Ministry of Tourism and Environment we have known for some time just how busy they are trying to promote Northern Cyprus as a tourist destination, and why not, as there is not much missing here except for direct flights due to the on-going archaic embargoes, designed to keep our southern neighbours happy!

The world need not bother because the TRNC is growing in stature and importance and a few weeks ago they were at the 2017 ITB Berlin Tourism Fair which is the world’s largest tourism trade fair. The companies represented at the fair included hotels, tourist boards, tour operators, system providers, airlines and car rental companies.

There were participants from 187 different countries during the course of the fair North Cyprus had an opportunity to introduce cultural, social, health and alternative tourism products to the world and their stand was awarded 9th place out of out of  an amazing 2,000 stands. Well done Kuzey Kıbrıs you deserved it.

This week the North Cyprus Tourism teams are very busy with one group in Baku, Azerbaijan at the Azerbaijan International Travel and Tourism Fair (AITF) and we show a picture below of the Kuzey Kıbrıs stand and the tourism team are ready to tell visitors all about the delights and value of making Northern Cyprus a must visit tourist destination.

We were delighted to receive a picture from our good friend Meryem Ozcilem of herself together TRNC Minister of Tourism and Environment, Fikri Ataoğlu and we hope to bring more news from Antalya very soon and in the meanwhile show below a previous summary from Fikri Ataoğlu about the plans for the HESTOUREX – World Health Sports Tourism Congress and Fair
