Çavuşoğlu: “We are working hard for a solution in Cyprus”
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu has stated that both Turkey and the Turkish Cypriots are continuing to work hard for a solution in Cyprus.
Speaking at a meeting with members of the Alanya Industrialists and Businessmen’s Association in Alanya, Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu touched upon the Cyprus negotiations and said, “We endeavour for a solution in Cyprus, but the latest decision taken by the Greek Cypriot Parliament to commemorate Enosis plebiscite at schools proves that the Greek Cypriots still dream of achieving Enosis. If they truly want a solution in Cyprus they must give up such dreams. The framework for a settlement and the negotiations is clear. They must respect the principles of political equality and bi-zonality. They have started changing their statements as the elections approach in South Cyprus.”
