A settlement that is in the interest of both sides would provide many advantages to everyone, Akıncı stated, and the last two and a half months are crucial.
Akıncı also underlined that research has proved that the most reasonable way to transfer natural gas exploited in the south side of the island to Europe is via Turkey.
Akıncı stated that the TRNC needs to develop transportation and communication infrastructure in the country.
Ercan Airport is important as it is the TRNC’s gateway to the world, and Akıncı said that he desires to see the airport receive a much needed upgrade.
