The Foreign Residents in the TRNC (TFR)

Midsummer Night Party at Akdeniz Beach

More than 50 members of the TFR, an association for foreign residents living in North Cyprus, participated in a Midsummer Night party at Caretta Restaurant in Akdeniz on Tuesday 21st June.

According to the ancient Northern European tradtion a bonfire should have been ignited that night to celebrate the summer solstice, but because of the extreme heat and aridity, the promised permission of the local authorities was withdrawn at short notice.

All party guests showed their understanding, and even without the fire, this was a successful evening with very good food – cooked by Tarik, the owner of the restaurant – and with entertaining parlour games (like e.g. a “crazy hat” competition), lively conversations and a fantastic sunset.
