When we wrote an article recently click here about how frustrating it is when you are looking at Youtube videos and tSnails pace internethe sound track spits and splutters and a load icon appears to tell you what you know already, that it’s trying to load more.

If you have internet TV no doubt you will have chosen channels only to hear a sound track but have no picture to view or if you are really lucky have a picture that ghosts or breaks up spoiling your viewing pleasure with a kaleidoscope display of coloured somthings you are left wondering what can I do?

What To Do When Your Internet Experiences ‘Snails Pace’!

There are times sadly when your internet connection might be losing the will to live, speeds are slow and it is going ‘in and out’ of Multimax logoconnection all the time.  After having spoken to the people at Multimax, they have provided some quick ‘self help’ tips to see if you can bring it back to life before picking up the phone.

My Internet is Slow

Possible Solution:  Have you rebooted (switch off directly at the plug) your power supplies for the ISP roof device and your own wireless router?  Switch them off, leave them for a minute and switch back on. It is surprising how many people call their ISP before having done this, Internet connectionsand 99% of the time, that is all that is required.  Like any other electrical device, things need a minute to cool down.

Reason: Like any other electrical device, things need a minute to cool down.  Your local base station may have experienced issues perhaps, your little roof device has strayed and locked onto another, less than ideal, base station.

Possible Solution:  Test your connection directly – if rebooting does not seem to have fixed the issue then some ISPs will ask you to test your connection ‘directly’, as in, bypass your wireless router and use their cable.  If you know your cabling then go ahead and try.  Do a speed test, use your ISP website to use their server if they provide one.  Should your speeds seem good (4mbps download seems to be either the maximum or the minimum provided by ISPs, so you should educate yourselves as your ISP approved minimum speed first) then this may indicate other issues.

Reason: Bypassing your router means you are connecting directly via cable to your device, which is a more stable environment.  There could be an issue with your wireless router, which some ISPs will check for you for free, to see if there is a fault or to reconfigure it where necessary.

If none of the above works for you, then you should now perhaps call your ISP, they may be aware of problems in your area or they can check your connection when you are experiencing the problem and see a solution immediately.

My Internet Keeps Losing Connection

 My TV Is Buffering

We all have to accept that North Cyprus is still a few years away from a perfect television streaming service, and perhaps it never will be perfect, so managing expectations on this front is important.  However, some trouble shoots for people whose television picture is not performing:

Possible Solution :  Bear in mind that all ISPs would probably advise you to cable your connections to TV android boxes and laptops

Reason: Your ISP may well be justified in not being able to help with WiFi TV use as it will never be the best way to watch television, anywhere or at any time!  As they are providing an internet into your property, your own internal network is ultimately your responsibility.

Possible Solution: Try watching the same channel via another medium. Eg., if you are watching NTV service and BBC1, try using your laptop to watch the same programme directly from BBC1

Reason : Perhaps it may be that NTV are experiencing a problem, but if the programme is the same via BBC1 then it would indicate other issues to be looked into

Possible Solution : Reboot all your power supplies for all items

Reason : It may be that your system has got itself locked up and tied in knots – rebooting all your power supplies Online supportmay well just untie it all

If these minor trouble shoots do not seem to have resolved your issue then call your ISP – some of the better ones actually send out courtesy text messages to advise of general problems in your area, including those involving Kibtek, which helps to make you feel that it’s not just you, but if in doubt always call!

  1. Friday 22nd May 2015 we received 2 mobile phone text messages from Multimax apologising that there was a local area issue and another with a telecom internet issue they were trying to resolve as quickly as possible.

    Well done Multimax for giving good customer service support.

  2. Wednesday 3rd June 2015. OMG Snail’s Pace internet again!!!

    Unplugged the router and Internet ISP connection and rebooted both and hey presto we have lift off with vey zippy internet again.
