Korineum Golf Club
By Peter Toms……
Lady and Lad in Red
Mid day Wednesday 18th February 2015 and the Lady and Lad in Red met with the Phoenix Line Dance Club as they practised their new routines at the Korineum Golf Club in Esentepe. Led by Steve and Denise Bisson these energetic Lady’s and Lad tap out their dances smiling and laughing to the rhythm of the music.
These dancers at the Wednesday Beginner/Improver level class at Korineum are members from Esentepe and points east of there, with a few from Çatalköy who meet and do their rehearsals and their enthusiasm is boundless. The Phoenix Line Dance Club Thursday Beginner class is held at Acmenya, Alsancak mainly for members to the west of Girne, and last but not least, their Tuesday class for Improver/Intermediate level members is held at the Secret Garden Cafe and Bar in the centre of Girne – this class is totally free of charge and open to all. The following video shows a class in action dancing Hot Momma which was choreographed by themselves and was danced to the sound of “Daddy Was A Preacher But Mama Was A Go-Go Girl”
Having discussed the Gift of Life Blood campaign we are promoting with Steve and Denise we have invited them to perform with their dance team at St Georges Day party at Cafe George in Girne one our sponsored events on the 23rd April and The World Blood Awareness Day party at Cirali Bakery at Karakum on 13th June. Steve said the Phoenix Line Dance Club are always pleased to help in any way so we will be making our plans to include them and will tell our readers more in due course.
For those who would like more information about the Phoenix Line Dance Club please contact Steve or Denise on 0533 876 3410 or email email@example.com.
Finally the Phoenix dance team have been invited to perform at this year’s Tulip Festival where they have been performing at every Tulip Festival since its inception and the video below shows them performing at last year’s event to the sound of Winners and Losers.
Thank you all at the Phoenix Line Dance Club for your hospitality and we look forward to seeing you all again soon.
